- Pet medical insurance provider Trupanion, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, announced the launch of a Pet & Public Health Early Warning & Detection System. The system will be centered around Trupanion’s Veterinary Portal technology and serve as a link to finding and analyzing signs of illness and health patterns in dogs and cats across breed, age, geography and more. Industry partners include Boehringer Ingelheim and Mars Science & Diagnostics.
- Akston Biosciences Corporation and Purdue University have announced a partnership to co-develop an anti-cPD-L1 monoclonal antibody immunotherapy to treat cancer in dogs. The underlying technology was developed at Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research (PICR).
